The Christology Series
The Deity, Incarnation, Crucifixion, Resurrection, Ascension and Return of Jesus Christ
Welcome to Season 2 of The Kitchen Table Theology Podcast, where we will discuss biblical theology in an understandable way. You will discover how to apply biblical truth to your life. In the next five episodes, Jen and I will be discussing the theology or doctrine of Christology, the study of the person of Jesus Christ. It is vital to establish the doctrine of Christ’s deity as strongly as any truth that can be established.
The Incarnation of Jesus Christ changes everything. Listen as we discuss the human nature assumed by the divine Son and the impact it still has on us today.
In part three of our series on Christology, we consider the significance of Jesus' death on the cross. Because of the crucifixion, we have salvation. Jesus went to the cross willingly in order to transform our lives.
In a conversation with Rev. Billy Graham, the former Chancellor of West Germany, Konrad Adenauer, said, "If Jesus Christ is alive, then there is hope for the world. If Jesus Christ is in the grave, then I don't see the slightest glimmer of hope on the horizon." In this episode, Jen and I dive into one of the most foundational topics of our Christian faith: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
What do you think of when hear “The Ascension of Christ”? Does it feel a little strange and mysterious? Did Jesus fly or float up to Heaven? The event of Jesus ascending into heaven is described in Luke 24 and Acts 1, and could be one described as one of the anchors of our faith, but it is rarely discussed. Listen as Jen and I discuss the ascension of Jesus and why it was necessary.
The Return of Jesus Christ is a topic that causes much division among Christians and is also vast in its scope. We will dive deeper into the theology of the return of Christ when we address the Doctrine of Eschatology, the study of the end times, in a few months. For this episode, I will give an overview - the 30,000 foot view - of the second coming of Christ. The Bible is clear that one day Jesus will return. As Christians, we must be preparing for that day!
In this episode we answer some theological questions that have been submitted by our audience to wrap up the series on Christology.
