The Atonement Series
Atonement, Propitiation, and more
Let's talk about robbery, debt, and the Gospel. What do those three things have to do with atonement? What is atonement? When the Bible speaks about atonement it means that has a price has been paid for our sins and we have been reconciled with God. Listen to this episode as we dive deeper into the topic of atonement and what it means for us.
Propitiation is a rare word, a word that is not used in conversation very often, yet when you come to the pages of the New Testament, you discover that the word propitiation is a key word that is used six times in various forms relating to the effects of the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Listen as we discuss the wrath of God, the payment of penalty, the definition of propitiation, and answer the question, "So what?".
We are celebrating our 50th episode on Kitchen Table Theology! And what is a better way to do that than to talk about salvation? You can watch this episode on my YouTube channel and see Jen and I each share our own personal testimony. We will also dig in a little deeper into the concept of salvation. We usually think of it as something in our past, but did you know that it affects your present and future as well?
What does redemption mean in terms of our salvation? When Jesus shed His blood on the cross, He purchased a place for us in Heaven. He paid a ransom on our behalf and He is our Redeemer!
