The Angelology Series
The Study of the Doctrine of Angels
In this series, we will examine the doctrine of Angelology: the study of angels. In our first episode, we focus specifically on answering the basic question, "What are angels?” We see angels in jewelry, in figurines, even on the top of our Christmas trees. Do we though, have a good understanding of who and what angels are? Listen at the #linkinbio as we discuss the fact that angels were created by God, where they are mentioned in the Bible, types of angels, and more.
Episode 077: Angelic Purpose within God's Purposes
Angels certainly serve a number of purposes in carrying out the will and desires of God. Angels show the greatness of God’s love and plan for us; they remind us that the unseen world is real; and they are constantly and directly glorifying God. Listen as we discuss these three ways that angels fulfill God's purposes.
Episode 078: How We Relate to Angels
We should be aware of angels in our daily lives. What do we mean by that? Scripture makes it clear that God wants us to be aware of the existence of angels and of the nature of their activities. Listen to this episode as we discuss the purpose of angels, how angels are different from man, and what the Bible says about angels.
Episode 079: Where Did Demons Come From?
In this episode we are continuing our study of angelology, but we are taking a slight turn to discuss the topic of demons. Pastor Jeff begins by helping us understand the origin of Satan and of demons. These evil angels were once like the good angels but sinned and lost their privilege of serving God in His presence. Sometime between Genesis 1 and Genesis 3 there must have been a rebellion in the angelic world. Listen as Pastof Jeff and Jen explore what the Bible has to teach us about the origin of demons.
Episode 080: The Activities of Satan and His Demons
Satan was the originator of sin. He and his demons oppose and try to destory every work of God. The more we learn about Satan and study his ways, the more we can learn about how he works. His tactics are to use lies, deception, murder, and every other kind of destructive activity to attempt to cause people to turn away from God. Listen to this episode as Pastor Jeff describes what exactly the work of demons in the world looks like, what power they have and do not have, and how we can not be led astray.
Episode 082: Demonic Activity and the Life of A Believer
In previous episodes in this series, we have established that demons are active in our world today. In this episode, we look to answer the question, "Is all sin and evil directly from Satan and his demons?" While the New Testament clearly recognizes the influence of demonic activity in the world, and even in the life of believers, it is also clear that our primary focus as believers should be striving, under the power and influence of the Holy Spirit, toward a life of holiness and faith.
